She's back and she's got a new trick...

I am now determined to write enough in my journals. As my page might well let on, I have become a Pegasis. Hopefully not a rabid one... I still have other fandoms you know?
So here's a moment of fandom love, just to remind myself that I still have diverse tastes. (Also just remembering how cool it is to put thumbnails in a journal).

See! I am brilliant for not spamming my journal with ponies pictures.

...

Speaking of which.

So I have no real artistic ability. I can knock out a quick sketch here and there, or slave over a landscape/background. However starting university showed my that I wasn't half bad at model painting. Thanks to a close friend giving me an Imperial Standard Bearer to play with (who might end up in my scraps one day when I can find him).

To date I have crafted two MLP figures, Arachne Blossom and Midnight Dash.

Arachne began life as a Twilight Sparkle; repainted, rehaired (with nylon hair from My Little Customs) in Nickle and Forget Me Not. Then I painted her new cutie mark, and created her animal companion Nid with a lump of Milliput and some wire legs.

The biggest challenge was actually styling her mane. I trimmed it down and washed it with moisture rich shampoo and conditioner. Styling took a lot of trial and error with boiling water and little hair ties. I think I'm still not happy with her mane now, but she is safely in the hands of my housemate and I promised to stop interfering with his pony!

Midnight Dash was my first blind bag custom for my boyfriend and began life as a Rainbow Dash knockoff. Repainted in a little Shadowbolt uniform with little sculpted goggles. So far I like working with blind bags, because plastic does as it's told better than all that nylon.

Up until that point I thought I'd been a little bold with my sculpting and animal companion making...
I was wrong.

This is the current progress on my Sable Whisper custom... Perhaps you can judge for yourself how must of a difficulty gap there is here.
